East Lansing is home to our main campus, with our classrooms and computer lab located in North Kedzie Hall, our faculty and administrative offices located in South Kedzie Hall, and our library housed nearby in the law college building.

As described herein, our curriculum and coursework are designed to provide students with essential skills:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the integral role of HR/LR in organizations and the tools to becoming leading professionals
  • Making strategic analyses of the global economy
  • Aligning HR/LR strategies with business and organizational strategies
  • Estimating the value added from HR/LR practices
  • Developing HR/LR strategies, policies, and practices
  • Complying with employment and labor laws
  • Managing the dynamics of union-management relations

Most of the 130 students at our East Lansing campus enroll full-time, taking three courses each term. Classes are relatively small with between 15-35 students, allowing for optimal classroom interactions among students and with faculty. During the summer term between the end of the first academic year and the beginning of the second academic year, students are employed as summer interns with a wide range of leading companies and nonprofit organizations. These paid internships provide essential hands-on learning and mentoring, which help prepare students for careers in human resource management and labor relations.
