How do you become a member?
Becoming a member of SHRM is easy! First, it's important to understand that there are two different kinds of memberships and each has its own advantages:
- Local membership - To become a local member of SHRM you should contact one of the current officers of SHRM. The cost of membership for one year is $15. A local membership will provide amenities such as a network of HR contacts, informative events on campus and reduced rate for the Michigan State SHRM Conference, held annually.

- National membership - To become a national member of SHRM you can either contact one of the current officers of MSU's SHRM chapter or visit the national website at: www.shrm.org. National membership costs $35 for students. It includes benefits such as a subscription to HR Magazine, access to the website's database and an international network base.
Note: National membership applications must be signed by our faculty advisor, Ms. Thuy-Tram Nguyen. In addition, checks for membership to the national organization MUST be submitted separately so that they can be sent on to the national office. Checks for membership can be given to any officer or SHRM or put in their mailboxes on the fourth floor of S. Kedzie Hall. |
