Admissions Criteria and Process
It is possible to enter the program in any academic semester: fall, spring, or summer. Moreover, it has long been School policy that no applicant is refused admission solely due to lack of space in the MHRLR program. Consequently, the School follows a rolling admissions process. That is, individual applications are reviewed when all the needed materials have arrived to our office and applicants are informed as soon as possible of the decision made on their application.
The School has experienced a substantial increase in the number of applications in recent years. Thus, it is to your advantage to complete your application as quickly as possible. We recommend that you make sure we have all your application materials at least six to eight months before the start of the semester that you intend to enter the program. Should your application be completed after we close admission for your requested semester of entry, we would admit you into the next available semester. Furthermore, once you have been admitted to the School you have one calendar year to pick your semester of entry.
Admission to the MHRLR program is determined by a careful case-by-case review of each applicant's credentials. Particular emphasis is given to junior-senior GPA, GRE or GMAT scores, letters of recommendation, and a statement of objectives written by the applicant. A junior-senior GPA better than 3.0 is preferred for admission. However, an applicant with a somewhat lower GPA may be admitted if other components of his/her application are strong. Ultimately, students who present transcripts and meet the necessary prerequisites are admitted as regular status.
Students admitted into the MLRHR program are required to complete some undergraduate coursework that includes:
- Completion of undergraduate micro-economics with a 3.0 or better; and
- Completion of undergraduate behavioral science with a 3.0 or better; and
- Completion of undergraduate statistics with a 2.0 or better.
Students must complete micro-economics before enrollment in LIR 809, and statistics before enrollment in LIR 832.
