Information for International Applicants

Funding

We cannot waive the application fee required by Michigan State University. If your application arrives without the required application fee, we will not be able to process your application. In addition, for the 2007 academic year, the University requires that you provide proof of funding in the amount of $27,378 for yourself. If you plan to bring your spouse, you will need proof of an additional $5,000 (and $3,000 per child). The University cannot provide an I-20 for students who cannot provide proof of funding.

TOEFL Score Requirements

Applications for international students are considered incomplete and will not be reviewed until the following TOEFL score requirements are met:

Paper-based Test: 560 (with no sub-scores below 52)
Computer-based Test: 225 (with no sub-scores below 19)
Internet-based Test: 85 (with no sub-scores below 17)
International English Language Testing System (IELTS): The ACR overall minimum score is 7

The Institution Code to have TOEFL scores reported to Michigan State University is 1465, and the Department Code is 87.
