Who should attend

This employment law program is specially designed for human resources professionals and others who handle human relations issues on a regular basis. The program is also appropriate for attorneys who advise professionals in the area of human resources management.

The learning environment

To facilitate learning, attendance is limited to 30 participants in each workshop. The relaxed class atmosphere fosters networking and the sharing of experiences. Participants will learn from each other and gain from the expertise and experience of the instructors. The workshop is designed to allow you to raise specific questions and obtain the answers you need.

The employment law certificate

This national program covers the major elements of employment law and includes an evaluation procedure to certify its successful completion. Individuals who successfully complete the course and pass the required examination receive a certificate by Michigan State University’s School of Labor and Industrial Relations indicating successful course completion and mastery of the material.

Examination

Mastery of course content will be evaluated via take-home examinations, part of which will be given out during the seminar week. Participants will also be evaluated on their participation in various activities during the workshop, which will include discussion of cases and review of your organization’s personnel policies. The course certificate is achieved by participating in the entire workshop and passing the examination.
