OVERVIEW

As we lead you through the maze of workers' compensation, we will help you understand:

  • Which employments are covered
  • Which injuries are covered
  • The requirements to qualify as "disabled"
  • How to calculate the rate of benefits
  • The procedures followed in contested cases

We have developed a new way to examine and teach the basic concepts of Michigan workers' compensation law. We treat the entire system and its legal principles as a maze. As we walk you through the maze we will explain the law as it is applied to all the most common problems that arise under Michigan workers' compensation law.

Who should attend?
  • Individuals who manage workers' compensation for employers
  • Individuals who handle workers' compensation claims for insurance companies and third party administrators
  • Professionals including doctors, lawyers, rehabilitation counselors and case managers
  • Individuals who represent unions in dealing with workers' compensation

People will benefit from this program if they are:
  • New to workers' compensation. This is a basic program; it does not require previous training or experience.
  • Experienced at workers' compensation but looking for either 1) a review of the basics, or 2) a new way of looking at old ideas.

Attendance is limited to about 30 people. We guarantee that there will be time for an open discussion in which you will be able to get your questions answered.
